Education Appeal 2023

The sight on the garden bench was stunning – a long row of foxes, their papier-maché noses more-or-less straight, ears alert. The young campers had carefully painted the fox masks themselves, with special attention to each set of golden, light-filled eyes: some dreamy, some focused, some bright with wild mirth. It was only July, but for a moment it seemed we were already beholding the lively faces of Fall groups of schoolchildren, primed for their Boxerwood day...

PARTNER IN THE PICTURE: Liz Kuehner

Boxerwood volunteers bring all kinds of gifts to their Boxerwood callings. Some garden, some guide committees, some greet, some teach. As summer comes to a close we'd like to recognize one of our long-term volunteers who helps our camp programs bloom. A radiant force who shares her heart, imagination, and artistic talents, Liz Koehler dove into art-making with our youngest campers all summer long. As camp director Caroline Coons puts it, "While Liz instructs, she sees each student for who they are and helps them make memorable nature art. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Liz for all she gives -- and for all the wonders she created with us and for us this summer." Thank you for being a part of Boxerwood, Liz!
